Alma Dance Teaches Kids on the Chicago South SideAlma Dance Company and the United Neighborhoods Organization (UNO) have recently joined efforts to bring to the Latino youth of Chicago, the opportunity to experience classical ballet; the starting point of any professional dancer!

The partnership between UNO and Alma will build confidence, sense of accomplishment, natural creativity, and body skill development to all participating Latino youngsters in an after school program that started at the end of August 2009.

This ambitious but doable project demands $35,000 per quarter for its continuity during the academic year. We need the best ballet trainers, appropriate ballet attire, ballet equipment, and we are counting on you to help us raise those funds.

You will make possible that low-income Latino children express their artistic talent through the arts of ballet. The arts are essential to the growth and development of today’s young minds. Alma Dance and UNO plan to serve the underprivileged children ages 8 to 12 and help them enhance their physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and social development.

These are some of the objectives of Alma Dance Company; bringing ballet to the underserved kids and making our performances accessible to the families that can’t afford to go to expensive ballet performances.

We want to bring arts, and ballet to everywhere in this country and around the world. Ballet schools are very expensive, and we want to do this for free for the kids. Please help us make this a reality by contributing with Alma Dance.
